300

It’s been such a long, long time since everyone around me gave thumbs up sign for a particular movie.

Recently I found one…

{Based on the epic graphic novel by Frank miller, <<300>> is a ferocious retelling of the ancient Battle of Thermopylae in which King Leonidas (Gerard Butler) and 300 Spartans fought to the death against Xerxes and his massive Persian army. Facing insurmountable odds, their valor and sacrifice inspire all of Greece to unite against their Persian enemy, drawing a line in the sand for democracy.}

I went to see this movie two weeks ago without much expectation. After all, I assumed it was just another war movie with heavy weapons, cunning enemies, pouring bloods and innocent victims.

I was completely blown over.

Overwhelming rush of adrenaline took over me and I remembered I was shuffling in my seat throughout the whole film in…excitement. Trust me, you can never find another movie featuring 300 half naked, muscular men with their biceps, triceps and six-packs screaming out loud together. Without the red cloaks, they were more or less like Tarzans. Hmm…I guess the producers saved some budget in the clothes department.

I liked the movie NOT becoz of the 300 half naked men OK. It’s the actions and the graphics tat I lust for. The movie is full of masculinity, wits, courage, willpower, brotherhoods, sacrifice and love.

King Leonidas didn’t want to give up his country to some so-called immortal King of Persian so he gathered all his best of the best warriors, traveled all the way by foot to put up a fight. He met up with the sissy King Xerxes.

King Leonidas hated the idea to kneel before a gaylord and so the war began.

Day after day, night after night, they were attacked by thousands of immortal spirits, monsters, giants and beasts. They fought with all their skills and energy they could muster. No retreat. No surrender.

King Leonidas and his gang fought till the end. With all his might and willpower, he tried to kill Xerxes…and he roared at the top of his lungs…

Did he succeed? Well, go see yourself. You will gain more than I could described here. It’s worth it.

The movie ended and everyone in the cinema applauded.

That was priceless.

That was glory.

P/S: To top it all, I present you the lead actor, Gerard Butler. ENDAO le...faster go see la.
